New: Retro Mode. A new Retro Mode tab on the template style (System → Site Template Styles → your Spark Store style → Retro Mode) lets phones and tablets keep the classic desktop look. Added at a customer's request.

Retro Mode: phones. "Phone header style" (screens up to 767 px wide) can be Modern, the default and unchanged, or Classic. Classic shows the desktop header stacked in one column: logo and slogan, the Register and My account buttons, the cart box, the social icons, the menu as a list (a + button opens sub-menus) and the search box.

Retro Mode: tablets. "Tablet header style" (768 to 991 px wide, tablets held upright) can be Modern, the default and unchanged, or Classic. Classic centres the logo on top, puts the account buttons, social icons and cart in one row, and keeps the menu bar with its search box underneath. Wider screens always show the full desktop header.

Retro Mode: caching. When you change these settings and click Save, the template empties Joomla's page cache, so visitors see the new header on their next page load.

Store owners. The account page no longer shows an error when a store owner or vendor is logged in.

404 page. One line of the "page not found" text is ready for Joomla 6's renamed language string.

Quickstart. Weblinks updated to 5.2.0.

Joomla 5 native. Rebuilt for Joomla 5.4 and Bootstrap 5. The template no longer depends on Joomla's backward-compatibility layer and runs on VirtueMart 4.8.

Added: responsive layout. The template now adapts to phones and tablets; 5.3.0 was a fixed 960-pixel page. Phones get a menu drawer and a row of buttons for the menu, account, registration, search, social links and cart, with a number on the cart button when it holds items.

Added: wider desktop layout. The page is now 1170 pixels wide on large screens, up from 960. The slideshow scales with it.

Added: a 404 page in the template's own design. A missing page now shows the site header, menus and footer with a link home, instead of Joomla's plain error page.

Added: favicon settings. A Favicon tab in the template options, with a crop tool and the full set of icons for browsers, phones and tablets.

Added: show/hide password. Login, registration and account forms have an eye icon that reveals what you typed.

Added: social networks. X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, TikTok and Discord join the existing links. Google+, StumbleUpon, Digg, Blogger and Myspace are gone.

Changed: template options. The four colour settings are real colour pickers, on/off settings use Joomla's own switches, tab names no longer end in "Settings", and the details panel is readable in Joomla's dark admin theme.

Changed: login window. The My Account window is now a Bootstrap 5 dialog.

Changed: fonts and stylesheets. Google Fonts load directly instead of through a third-party script, and every stylesheet carries a version marker, so an update shows straight away without clearing the browser cache.

Fixed: cart address page. Editing a billing or shipping address in the cart no longer stops with a PHP 8 error. Thank you, Zoltán, for reporting it.

Fixed: login on Joomla 5. The VirtueMart login form used a validation call that Joomla 5 removed. It now uses the current one.

Fixed: print view and pop-up windows. The print view, and the pop-ups VirtueMart uses such as "ask a question", now use the same Bootstrap 5 styling as the rest of the template.

Fixed: icons, pagination and search. Pagination arrows and the search icon no longer show as empty squares or stray characters, the search button sits flush against its field, and the options screen loads its icons from a working source. With thanks to Michael Mullan, whose bug report led to this maintenance pass across our templates.

Fixed: forms and breadcrumbs. Form fields, labels and the breadcrumb trail use the template's own sizes and styling again.

Fixed: Update Manager. The same update no longer appears twice.

Removed. Internet Explorer 6–8 code, jQuery plugins that do not work with Joomla 5's jQuery, stylesheet links to files that are no longer part of the template, and VirtueMart 3's Klarna payment plugin, which VirtueMart 4 no longer ships.

Security. Every template setting printed into the page is now escaped for where it lands (page text, attributes, CSS and JavaScript), and the site name and slogan in image descriptions are quote-escaped.
